Summer Camp-RecapThe Silena Semedo Foundation Teach Me How to Be Summer Camp was a total success this 2015 Summer! We identified boys and girls from Canton City Schools in grades 6-8th to participate in the camp which was held at Malone University. Each week, the students learned skills and traits related to the following: Healthy Living, 1st Impressions, Banking Skills, Hygiene Skills,  Interviewing Skills, & Independent Living Skills. Additionally, students participated in 5 Presentations that were conducted by the following Community Organizations & Leaders: Chase Bank, Canton Fire, Canton Police, Aultman Hospital, & Industrial Reality Group. These presentations allowed the students to learn what it takes to achieve their goals of becoming a professional in the working world. The camp participants were able to learn throughout the week and on Friday’s we took the students to apply what they learned throughout the week on our Field Trips. The following fieldtrips were taken: Cleveland Zoo, Dave & Busters, Fun n Stuff, N. Canton Skate Center, Chucky Cheese’s, and Belden Village Mall. Special thanks to Lisa Johnson from Aultman, Dimetrius Harris from Chase Bank, Andrea Perry from Canton Safety & Security, Stuart Lichter from Industrial Reality Group, and Brenda Stevens from Malone University for collaborating with our organization and making 2015 Teach Me How to Be Summer Camp a major success!
